Peregrine is the daughter of the late Annabelle Fisher and granddaughter of the late Henry Fisher.
She left school "as soon as [she] could".[1] Peregrine works as a hairdresser in the most recent of a string of jobs she cannot seem to keep.[2]
In "Just Murdered", she comes to Melbourne after learning that her aunt, Phryne Fisher, has left her late mother an inheritance. There, she meets the rest of the Adventuresses' Club and becomes a private investigator like her late aunt.
She meets Detective Inspector James Steed when she reports a theft and the two go on to become an excellent murder-solving duo.
