"Death at Victoria Dock" is the fourth episode of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries' first season. It is based on the Phryne Fisher novel of the same name by Kerry Greenwood.

Synopsis[]

The shooting death of a Latvian anarchist sets Phryne off in pursuit of the dead man's fiancée. In the process, she enters a dangerous underworld and puts not just herself in danger but her maid, Dot, as well.[1]

Quotes[]

Phryne: That's a very pretty cardigan you have on today, Dot.
Dot: Thank-you, miss.
Phryne: And, uh... sniffs do I smell attar of roses? It's a significant effort to impress a Protestant policeman.
Dot: I wish you'd detect a little less every now and then, miss.

Trivia[]

  • The murder had nothing to do with Phryne's actual detective case, merely taking place coincidentally nearby while she was speaking with her client.
