A man and a woman (later revealed to be Clive and Moira Johnson) are surprised on a pier at night. A box of coins falls, scattering its contents. The woman screams and she looks at the corpse of the man, who has a dagger protruding from his chest. Someone strangles the woman. The next morning we see someone steal the man's watch, then the two corpses are wrapped and thrown into the sea, along with their luggage.
