"Away with the Fairies" is the eighth episode of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries' first season. It is based on the Phryne Fisher novel of the same name by Kerry Greenwood.

Synopsis[]

When a magazine columnist dies under mysterious circumstances, Phryne finds petty jealousies, deception, and, perhaps, a motive for murder among the dead woman's colleagues. Phryne searches for clues in the writer's unpublished files.[1]

Plot[]

Quotes[]

Phryne: No wonder my father didn't stand a chance against you.
Miss Charlesworth: He was wrong. I was right. One clever, grubby little girl gets to stay at school and look what you end up with!

Notes[]

  • When Phryne offered to lend Miss Charlesworth enough money for payroll until the police released the material she needed to publish, Miss Charlesworth refused utterly. She apparently preferred to forego paying her staff rather than stoop to borrowing money until the magazine could be printed.
  • The side plot involving Lin Chung's fiancée did not interact with the main plot.
